Before we focus our attention on the praise and worship sheet music, briefly explore the origins of the music itself. According to the Scriptures even before the earth was created, melody and harmony existed in the heavenly places in all its glory. Its sole purpose was to exalt and glorify God. If this surprises people, they would be even more surprised to discover that Satan was the choir director and worship leader in heaven before his fall. The book Ezekiel says that Lucifer was built pipes music into his body. It was probably like an organ pipe mobile. It was then known by its former name "Lucifer", which literally means "light bearer."
With his fall, he brought another dimension to the music was devoid of God in the center. It is self-rewarding nature that has nothing to do with God whatsoever. With the fallen nature of man, such has become very attractive and was immediately adopted as the main form of music. When musical notation was developed later both forms grew up side by side, but it has progressed in leaps and bounds because of its universal appeal. Gospel music notation is relatively difficult finding in relation to other genres that are available in abundance today.
We can probably arrange partitions in gospel two main divisions namely classical and traditional worship songs, like hymns and psalms, and the more contemporary style, commonly called praise partitions and worship. In a worship service regularly, both types find its place alongside. While the older generation prefers more forms traditional music consists of old familiar hymns, the younger generation would obviously prefer the latter. Both forms of sheet music can be found on the Internet and offline sources. There are also software packages that music notation to print from MIDI files.
