Universal Latin

There is no doubt that the world we live in is becoming more globalized and the driver of this phenomenon was the advent of technology as the Internet, VoIP, fax, satellite TV and mobile phones. Although the cause may be apparent, the effects are underway and no one can predict that yet where they will take us, however, the most apparent trend to date, globalization is highlighted barriers language.

Globalization has, perhaps for the first time in history, brought together many disparate cultures, which to this day, May never had any degree of intercultural interaction. The first and most immediate manifestation of this meeting of cultures has been increasing sudden need for bilingual education and multilingual staff.

This stage of cultural interaction can be illustrated in a microcosm, with the example of the European Union. The European Union has some 20 officially recognized languages and when the European Parliament is in session, it requires the services of about 60 interpreters in order to be able to communicate with all of its members. Any organization currently employs some 2,000 translators and interpreters in total, to enable it to function at all.

While we are at the initial stage of the meeting of cultures … This requires that translators and language professionals, the development shows the progression to another stage … that of a common medium of Communication … and its first events we need to look back in the past.

A common second language as a means of communication Universal has been developed by LLZamenhof in 1887 with its publication of Esperanto. It was formulated from all European languages common and had a strong revival in the 1950s and 60s. He was never to gain universal popularity, however, but to this day she still a sequence of up to 2 million people.

What not happen by design, however, could well be the case by default. Looking both languages on the Internet's most popular one is that English and Chinese in the league, we also note that both these languages are gaining ground globally. English is, of course, without doubt, the de facto language of business and international finance and in collaboration with the German, the language of science and technology.

Chinese, or more exactly the Mandarin dialect, however, is gaining ground. China has become the main engine of world trade and expansion of partnerships and global trade agreements, is the expansion of Mandarin. The two continents where it is the most obvious are the South Americas and Africa, but increasingly, Mandarin is a basic requirement for many global corporates to settle the interior, or hoping to do business with China.

Whether we will witness the evolution of a common language environment has not yet seen. What languages can have such an influence is a matter of historical record … I cite the use of Latin in the ancient civilized world. Until then, however, we continue to require skills of bilingual and multilingual professionals who can facilitate the transition from day to present the linguistic diversity and homogeneity language possible.

“Il Volo” is the new world of classical pop sensation. Werewolf of London [VHS]

Universal’s first werewolf film falls in the shadow of the 1941 hit The Wolf Man. You might say it’s a different animal, as this version carries none of the now-familiar trappings of the wolf-man legend: no wolfsbane, no silver bullets, no gypsy curse. Dr. Wilfrid Glendon (Henry Hull) is a London botanist whose search for a rare flower takes him to a “cursed” valley in Tibet where he’s mauled in t…

End of Days [VHS]

$1.58

After a two-year hiatus that included recovery from heart surgery, Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to the big screen in November 1999 with End of Days, a Thanksgiving turkey if ever there was one. Overcooked and bloated with stuffing, this ludicrous thriller attached itself to the end-of-the-millennium furor that kicked in a year too early. A prologue begins in 1979 with panic in the Vatican when a…
