If the new abbreviations come every day you throw in a panic, or if you have trouble understanding the lingo of text messages, then you might have problems even greater understanding of all the jargon shop around on eBay.
In practice, most jargon has a fairly clear definition and can easily be clarified on eBay, such as "NR" – No reserve 'Bin' – Buy It Now "," GBP – Great British Pound. Jargon that is not become evident soon clear in your first weeks on eBay.
For all those that still confuses you, find the meaning of the jargon eBay keying or "Lingo ebay" in a major search engine.
This list should help you understand the jargon of the most current eBay:
BNIB — Brand New in Box
MIB – Mint in Box
NWT – New With Tags
NWOT – New Without Tags
OOP – Out of print
NPB – Non-paying bidder
FB – Feedback
BW – Black and White
S & H – Shipping and Handling
USD – United States Dollars
NBW – Never Been Worn
OB – Original Box
Like many people, I hate acronyms, I Balk positively to the new jargon that only the author understands, though in reality I have never felt disadvantaged or threatened as a buyer or seller when a new word 'enters dictionary unwritten eBay. Because some vendors may use unfamiliar abbreviations or contractions, much less use of words themselves, but nobody understands.
Obviously, it is not wise to use uncommon abbreviations in your eBay listing, especially in the title, except as permitted surplus space. Nevertheless, abbreviations are tempting, especially for newcomers who see them as ideal for forcing the title to generate much traffic from the engines eBay search.
But who in their right mind would search eBay for "Shirt BNIB, BW, NBW, 100% FB.
Research only viable engine friendly word in the title is "shirt", the rest would be better discarded and replaced by something like "1960s Stripe Man's B & B Pop Art Carnaby Street London "You recognize the title first as representing a rare piece of memorabilia from the early pop?
So think long and hard, and always think twice about using any abbreviations in the title or list, or you you may find confusing and alienating potential bidders and greatly reduce the resale value of your products.
