Today I went to the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Tanglewood to hear the rehearsal Saturday morning the Brahms Symphony 2 and Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2. I had intended to go to this concert for two months and was with great interest to it.

I love Brahms. My all-time favorite is the piece of classical music of Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1. When I saw the two pieces Brahms on the BSO schedule, I asked my friend and classical pianist Jed Moss if the program was worth the 3 hour drive each door Release in Lenox, Mass., and said: "You betchya!

As this program was highly recommended, I was eager to hear performed live. When I arrived at Tanglewood, to my great disappointment of the pre-concert talk was not Brahms, but was rather Liszt Ravel and Beethoven. I was not happy. After two months of anticipation and getting up at 5.30am to three hour drive to the edge of Massachusetts, I was more upset that … But there was more.

Instead of hearing the two songs by Brahms performed by the BSO and the pianist Garrick Ohlsson, conducted by Kurt Masur, I would have the opportunity to hear three other pieces, a different pianist, and I would be able seen driving Sir André Previn, which is something I wanted to do for the past year. What I did not expect, however, was be completely blown away by the pianist!

Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet stepped on the scene, elegant in his jeans and sneakers by Ed Hardy pinstripe jacket, white shirt and blond hair. He politely acknowledged the audience and break the silence, he opened a can of soda. We all laughed.

Sir André Previn has been hidden from public view as he stood between piano and orchestra. We could not see but could hear and he could see, waving his wand in the air!

As Jean-Yves Thibaudet at the piano, his energy and good humor were apparent. He smiled warmly, seemed incredibly relaxed and comfortable, and it looked hip and young. At 37 years, youth projects Thibaudet and energy, which is attractive for younger viewers.

It made me laugh, however, the old couple sitting behind me who complain that "our soloist" wore a torn jeans – tsk tsk! It really bothers them and they could not get over it. As a younger boss, I find refreshing to see performers in casual wear to rehearsals, I find them more relatable.

Jean-Yves Thibaudet would be performing Franz Liszt Piano Concerto No. 2 in A major, commonly called "Totentanz". As the concerto started, it seemed Regal, arms and hands the keys that flows like grass swaying in the wind. In a moment, the Concerto has exploded into one of the most complex, has played pieces that I saw or heard. I sat there, my eyes wide with amazement, with a smile on my face. I could not believe what I saw! Jean-Yves Thibaudet was absolutely phenomenal!

Finite disappointment that I did not want to hear Brahms, I was expecting to hear another day. For watch Jean-Yves Thibaudet, in person, was a surprise and a gift!

I have not seen many pianists perform live, but I had the privilege of seeing some of the best today. The piano soloist I first saw was Evgeny Kissin. He has performed (my favorite) Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 with the BSO, and I was in heaven. Indeed, I saw him twice! I saw a small number of other pianists to perform with the BSO, but none touched me as much or as Kissin Thibaudet. They have such energy and charisma and they have the gift reach into your soul, as if they were playing just for you. There is a relationship to have with incredible music and it is rare indeed!

Spectacle I listened live Saturday night over the web. I wanted to hear the Concerto for piano by Liszt, from beginning to end without interruption. As Jean-Yves Thibaudet began I pictured her royalty, then the intensity and perfection of every note played. But I must admit that it is simply not the same witness in person.

When you're sitting in a room of music with the soloist and over 50 orchestra members before you, you feel a such link and joy that music that envelopes you. To watch a pianist, as Jean-Yves Thibaudet, to see how it reacts with the conductor, orchestra and audience, it's something you can not experience by listening on the web, radio or CD.

It was an incredible morning in Tanglewood surprise. I expected to fall in love with more works by Brahms, but rather developed a new love for this phenomenal pianist. I'm anxious to see them perform again one day, just as I am glad Evgeny Kissin again.

That's my only advice: If you can, out and attend the symphony. You may just find yourself fascinated by music, musicians and event.

The saxophone is an instrument of music's most popular family of wood available in a store saxophone. Invented by the Belgian composer Adolphe Sax In 1841, the saxophone is a device family that was originally designed to be used in military bands. Many improvements have been incorporated in the invention of Adolphe after its patent expired in 1866, adding to the popularity of models including saxophone many are now sold online. For example, the bell flaring at the end of the instrument has been lengthened slightly widens its lower range of Sax and extra keys were added to make playing the saxophone less difficult.

So you've decided you want to be a drummer but is at a loss as to what kind of style of game you want to control. Have you considered learn how to be a jazz drummer?

As you probably know, jazz is a genre most artistic and intriguing music especially for the jazz drummer. Playing jazz, the drummer gives the opportunity to exhibit his amazing technical drumming skills and abilities. However, most drummers choose not to take the time to learn to play jazz drums properly which is partly due to its wide range of Technical unlike most other forms of music.

Although jazz drumming seem to look very complicated, in reality, it is not so difficult to learn. The main difference is that most drummers are used for the 4 / 4 beat of the drum where jazz is played with a lot of triplets and touch is different from most other types of music. Thus, the drummer may have to relearn some techniques of percussion. In addition, most pieces Jazz are relatively fast in tempo and thus most drummers are also improvements in their speed stick.

The first thing a new drummer needs to learn when playing jazz pieces is the basic tempo swing jazz groove sometimes called the "Swing". The main role a jazz drummer to keep time for the rest of the band as in any style of music. The drummer should never dominate the rest of the band unlike when playing rock songs. To do this, simply use your Hi hat and ride cymbal.

Ok. Start with your hi-hat, walking on the 2 and 4 to count up a piece of swing music. It is essential to keep the count above all that you play. Then add the ride cymbal with a triplet tempo and feel. The practice these initiatives to perfection before going further with your drum lessons.

Now that you've mastered how to keep the tempo swing with the hi-hat and ride cymbals, we will move to the bass drum or sometimes called the kick-drum. Jazz drumming techniques are sometimes very subtle and thus the bass drum should not be too dominant. So do you ensure that you do not play the bass drum too loudly. This is again unlike most other drum-shaped. A good technique for this is to keep your heel down when playing the bass drum. This way, you're more in control position force of the kick more easily. A jazz drummers often use the technique of softening the bass drum. This is done by lightly tapping the bass box on the quarter or eighth notes.

You probably know it's very common for the bass drum to follow the bass player. So, you may need to know what kind of growth rate bassist plays and try to follow. The bass drum should be played with more sense than to beat strong such as rock music.

The snare can be used to help as a focus for the group or can be directly used to play black.

Another common rhythm in jazz is the shuffle and every jazz drummer must also master this form of drum. In addition, since jazz music usually have musicians do short solo, jazz drummer must also learn to play the drum solo. By developing these common jazz drumming styles, you'll play jazz drums like a pro very soon!

The world music of the 20th century saw the entry of light and ambient music with Afro-American jazz. Originally from southern states USA, jazz music is a combination of African and European music traditions. It includes the use of blue notes, improvisation, syncopation and swing notes.

Jazz was first used in reference to music from Chicago early in the 20th century. It has evolved in several other subgenres such as New Orleans Dixieland, big band-style swing, bebop, jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz, Brazilian, jazz-rock fusion, and latest acid jazz.

The Kingdom of the jazz music was and still is mainly associated with the black American community. These black musicians transition banjos and tambourines learned to play European instruments such as violin. Black slaves in early America used singing and playing music as a form of spiritual or ritualistic hymns.

After emancipation, employment opportunities for slaves blacks were very limited as segregation laws were still in force. Most of these black slaves found themselves in the industry entertainment such as pianists and instrumentalists. They have become leaders in low cost as minstrels, vaudeville players, piano players bar and walking group members. Soon, this kind of jazz, called "Ragtime Jazz Spread the southern United States to other areas in the cities of West and Northern USA.

Ragtime jazz became very popular in the early century. Musician Jelly Roll Morton published the first jazz arrangement in print in 1915 with Jelly Roll Blues title. Print This arrangement has created a new breed of musicians playing ragtime. Ragtime music moved from red-light district and vaudeville shows at major concert venues such as Carnegie Hall.

The first jazz record was recorded in 1913 by the Society Orchestra, the first black group out with a record. Another group that has come with their very own recording jazz music is the "Original Dixieland Jazz Band." Other bands followed suit, releasing jazz recordings since 1917. In 1922, the most famous blues singer of the decade, Bessie Smith, has also released his first record. Also in 1920, Jelly Roll Morton played with the Kings of New Orleans Rhythm and history as the first mixed race recording collaboration. Big Bands such as Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington and Earl Hines played the most important places and paved the way Development of Big-band jazz swing style.

Louis Armstrong, trumpeter, conductor and singer, who is known as the Ambassador of Jazz what with his innovations in early jazz music. Swing music is considered as the popular dance music and playing arrangements of printed music. Then came the bebop which focuses more on small groups and simple arrangements.
